Of all the gigs I can remember,
this is the one whose crowd amazed me the most. It was a very
emotional day for the band and the energies were going in
every direction at first. After a fairly difficult and introspective
time with the first three songs (She is Magic, Suicide
Bomber and Nothing is Real - not their fluffiest
tracks by any stretch!) the band took a moment to ground themselves...
and the crowd, as if sensing the track to come, started going
wild: cheering, whistling and stomping their feet. They knew
T23 could pull it out of the bag and they weren't wrong. Bursting
into Zoo Nation, and accompanied by Phil's
Dr Jekyll transformation (that's becoming a signature of the
song's performance), the raw enthusiasm of the crowd pulled
the band over the edge and into one of their best sets ever.
Absolute magic.
